xPression provides comprehensive application enterprise integration (EAI) abilities that include: Web portal integration, application-level integration, content and data integration, and output channel integration. These integration abilities enable other systems and specialized applications to use xPression for high-volume document creation in real-time, near time or batch processing. The xPression EAI course covers all four integration mechanisms and teaches you how to integrate xPression with external systems or to write your own applications on top of xPression.

The course presents examples of various integration mechanisms provided by xPression, such as SOAP Web Services, JMS messaging, Java API, File Loading, FastPath, WebDAV, JDBC, XML, and User-specified code exits.

This class does not cover how to code or how to debug code.

Who Should Attend:

This is an intermediate to advanced course designed for the professional Java/JSP programmer. Through sample applications, the student will discover strategies and techniques for using the various connectivity mechanisms

Prerequisites:

  • Good understanding of the xPression architecture
  • Intermediate level Java/JSP programming skills:
    • Familiarity with core Java data types, classes and programming concepts
    • Know how to write and run Java Code
  • Good understanding of web architecture, Web-based applications, and Java servlets.
  • Understand what an web application and a servlet is
  • Know where classes, libraries, and data go in a web application
  • Basic familiarity with J2EE application servers, including ability to start/stop the application server, deploy and application to it, and do basic configuration. Know how to start and stop an application server and deploy an application
  • Familiarly with Open Standards J2EE concepts
  • Familiarity with XML and XSDs Schemas
  • Basic Windows File System and Web Brower navigation skills
  • Familiarity with relational Database concepts
