EMC World 2009 User Conference Focuses On Saving Money, Maximizing Resources and Achieving New IT-Service Delivery Models

Industry's Largest Gathering of Information Infrastructure IT Professionals to Meet in Orlando, Florida May 18-21

HOPKINTON, Mass—May 13, 2009—EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC), the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today previewed EMC World 2009, its annual educational conference attended by thousands of IT administrators, partners, technologists, analysts and journalists from around the world. This year a key focus throughout the event is on innovative ways to save money, maximize resources, achieve new IT service-delivery models, and better align IT infrastructure with business requirements. The event, to be held in Orlando, Fla. from May 18-21 is a comprehensive educational forum that provides attendees with unparalleled access to learn, challenge, explore and connect experts from EMC and over 100 partners, discussing and demonstrating the technologies and strategies that help customers get the maximum value from their information and their information infrastructures.

EMC World Highlights

EMC World 2009 kicks off on Sunday, May 17, with a welcome reception that gives attendees the opportunity to explore the event and network with IT administrators, partners, technologists, analysts and journalists from around the world. The conference formally begins on Monday, May 18 with the opening of the EMC World exhibit floor and a joint keynote delivered by EMC Chairman, President and CEO Joe Tucci, and VMware CEO Paul Maritz, who will map out the vision for the private cloud shared by EMC, VMware and other partners. They'll discuss how the private cloud will enable you to operate not only more efficiently but also more flexibly and reliably. They'll also talk about the Virtual Data Center, the latest advances in storage architecture, and how the next chapter of cloud-like computing will deliver unparalleled efficiency, control, and choice.

Additional executive keynotes will include Frank Hauck, Executive Vice President, EMC Storage Division, Global Marketing and Customer Quality, who will discuss the most important trends in information storage, key among them enterprise flash drives and data deduplication; Art Coviello, President, RSA, The Security Division of EMC who will give an insider's view of the fraudster's enterprise, with help from the head of RSA's Anti-Fraud Command Center in Israel; Mark Lewis, President, EMC Content Management and Archiving Division, who will present his views on cost-effective information management; and Howard Elias, President, EMC Global Services & Resource Management Software Group, who will lead a panel of EMC and VMware experts as they take questions and discuss clouds, virtual data centers and the new business and operational models that are transforming IT.

EMC World will feature the EMC Solutions Pavilion, providing a dedicated area for conference attendees to view live demonstrations of EMC products and solutions to show attendees how you can get the most value from your information at the lowest total cost. Technologies and processes will be showcased in a dramatic and interactive fashion.

Attendees can take advantage of the many opportunities for networking at EMC World including 33 "Birds of a Feather" sessions that will offer users a chance to share experiences, ask questions and learn from one another.
